52 – Introduce yourself

Class 52 – Mon (9:00) and Wed (13:15)

Hi everyone,

Write a short introduction (about 50-75 words) about yourself. This will:

  • help you become comfortable with Brain Drain and
  • allow you and your classmates to get to know each other.

All of your writing assignments will have two parts:

  1. your main post (self-introduction)
    DUE TUES 11 MARCH, 11:59 pm
  2. a brief, but thoughtful reply to one or more of your classmates
    DUE WED 12 MARCH, 11:59 pm

If you’re not sure what to write about, here are some things you can include:

  • where you grew up and went to school
  • what you like to do in your free time
  • favorites (food, books, musicians, TV shows, etc.)
  • bad habits
  • some goals this semester
  • what you would like to do someday

Here’s my introduction:

Hi, it’s nice to meet all of you. I’ve lived in Korea for about ten years and am beginning my eighth year teaching at Kangnam University. I’m also the editor of the English edition of our university newspaper The Kangnam Hakbo. Please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. If you’d like to do some work for the Hakbo, just let me know!

I’m from Roselle, IL, a quiet town about thirty minutes from Chicago. I have a wonderful wife who’s also my best friend. We don’t have children yet. I like writing and photography, but don’t do enough of it. I love junk food and would happily eat pizza and ramyeon every day if I didn’t think it would give me a heart attack. My wife says I drink too much coffee. She’s probably right. She usually is.

  1. Hi, nice to meet all of you. I lived in Seoul while I was middle and high school student, but now I live in Bundang. I like exercises so I usually ride a bike or go hiking in my free time.
    I want to learn swimming and I want to sign up a mountaineering club in Kangnam university. Please give me a information about a mountaineering club like how sign up this club.
    My favorite food is my mom’s spaghetti. I think it’s crazy delicious so I love it.
    I would like to travel all around the world someday.

    I’ve lived in Suwon for 15 years ago.
    I like writing stories,reading books,meeting with my friends when I have free time.
    I am a believer in Catholic and I’m a memeber of choir. Before I join a choir,I don’t like singing.
    But now, I like singing.:)
    I love novels,webtoon,arts-especially,I looove a performing arts!-,pasta.
    What I would like to do someday is studying Korean literature with my major,becoming a musical author,studying at foreign university.

    I live in suji sanghyundong in yongin. I graduated suji high school in 2013.
    I usually search internet, using SNS, listen to music, watch movie in my free time.
    I am going to gym for loosing my weight. I really want to slim down.
    My bad habit of studying is pick up to see how much you have in front of and make an excuse.
    But I think that study is important for my future. Above all, english is important to get a job. So I will study hard!

  4. Hi, I’m dowon. Could you fine to introduce myself? I was born and raised in Yongin. But, I commuted to high school to Gwangju. Gwangju is little far to me. So, I lived in a dormitory. When I lived there, it was hard time. Because, I feel lock in a dormitory. So, I came to Kangnam University that close my house. it is one of the reason that I was come here.

    After the hard high school times, I traveld to Vietnam.(It was first time to travel foreign country.) It was my best memory. I have thought to go to Vietnam for language study vaguely. But after the trip, I realized that I interested in traveling. So, this trip was motivated to think detailed my goal. My goal is businessman in Vietnam.

  5. Hello! Nice to meet you. My name is Seo Ye Ji. I’m twenty and the eldest of two daughters in harmonious family.
    I was born in Ulsan but I grew up in Seongnam and it takes about 1 hour by subway to get Kangnam University.
    My favorite hobby is watching movies. I love to watch all kinds of movies. And l love to watch baseball game. I often watch the games on television with my family cheering on my favorite team. Sometimes, I go to the ball park to enjoy the games with my friends, It is always exciting.
    I want to just be a dream. To achieve this dream will try to the best of four years.

I live in Il san. my home is too far away from university. but, there’s a grandmother house near school. so I commute to school there. I like playing the piano in my free time. I’ve learned to piano for about 10years.

    My name is Kim A Ruem. I live in IL-san. Because it is very couple of tough to go to school, i want to apply for a dormitory next semester. I had a part time job in BBQ restaurant. But i think it’s better to quit for a moment. So i’m unemployed now…. 🙁

  19. Hi, nice to meet you, Charles. and it’s Nice to meet everyone. My name is Kim Min Gyu. and I’m 20 years old. I’ve lived in Seoul before I entrace into kindergarten and moved to Namyangju-si in 2001. I graduated Dongwha Highschool. and I am freshman in Kangnam University. My club was big band(My part is trombone!!) in highschool, and my club is dance club(ALL CLEAR) now. I love listening music. My hobby is play the trombone. If you interested in trombone, I try to teach trombone for you.(I have a personal trombone.)
